ROCKY RIDGE — (Special) — Lester F. Base, 50, member of the village Council, died.this morning at his home following a several months illness. He was a section foreman for the Nickel Plate Rail¬ road until his illness. i
His body is at Robinson's funer¬ al home, Oak Harbor, where friends may call starting Saturday at 7. A noon Monday it win* be removed to St. John's Lutheran church at Rocky Ridge for services at 2. The Rev. E. H. E. Winterhoff will of¬ ficiate, and burial will be made in Eliiston cemetery. tf-~Jf^/*f3T$
He is survived by his wife, Ver- leah; a brother Emery of Martin; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Helle (Estella) of Williston, Mrs. Gilbert Velliquette (Lillian) of Toledo, and Mrs. Lloyd Lickert (Edna) of Gray¬ town.
Mr. Base was born at Trow¬ bridge, April 26, 1907, son of Wil¬ liam and Augusta Ahrcndt Base. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the VFW and belong¬ ed to St. John's Lutheran church at Rocky Ridge. He was serving his third term as a member of Rocky Ridge village council.
