Description	This imprint entitled Oration on the Fourth of July, 1806 was written by Elias Glover and printed by the press of John W. Browne, one of the early presses in the Northwest Territory. Published by the Republican Corresponding Society, it extols the principles of the Revolution as exemplified by President Thomas Jefferson. It also attacks the Federalists, particularly former President John Adams, for aristocratic and despotic tendencies. The twenty-four-page document measures 4.75 by 7 inches (12.07 by 17.8 cm).
