Philadelphia 7th Mo. 10th 1807
My dear Sister
I came from the Cliffts this morning (in order
to attend Meeting) where I have mostly resided two weeks
past my Husband goes out in the evening and returns to
the City in the morning taking with him the Children to
morning School who sometimes, or rather generally come out
& dine with me - & the Carriage is again sent back for their
Father I have Mary Palmer mostly out with me Rachel
Fisher being Housekeeper in Town first day mornings we shut
up House, & come to Town and as our meeting is held in the
evening we propose continuing to tarry in Town first day night,
going out again after the breaking of School 2nd day morning, thus I
have a little described our prospect of living for some weeks to
come, unless frustrated by sickness, or some other unforeseen pre=
=vention - & although, keeping two Houses open is attended with
& the children
some inconvenience yet it is such a relief, & comfort to me, ^
to reside in the Country during the warm weather that I esteem
it a great favour to have the priveledge I think it was
last 4th day that I received thy acceptable letter dated ye 6th Inst
& may acknowledge that I had no apprehension when we last parted
that our Epistolary Corrispondence would have been so long suspended,
but as Love seemed the sweet Cement when favoured to be together,
so the influence thereof towards thee, & m beloved brother, has preservd
from suspicion that our Silence proceeded from a dimunition there=
=of but there are Seasons when we are so reduced to poverty,
as to be discouraged by feelings of incapability even from attempting
to commune in this way and I have also felt more easy
