Annual B*nai B*rith Elections Monday; To Appoint Delegates
Potato Latkas, enough to fill up every member, are promised for the annual Latka festival of B'nai B'rith this Monday, 8:15 pm., at Broad St. Temple.
The stag business-meeting includes election of a new guardian, warden and trustee of Zion Lodge.
In addition, 12 delegates to the district convention- in Denver will be elected.
Allan Tarfihish will report on the recent General Com¬ mittee meeting and Sidney L. Katz on the Ohio Association of B'nai B'rith Lodges. .
Cards will follow the regular business meeting.

B'NAI B'BITH WOMEN HOLD NOVEL MEETTING
Continuing Us parade of "hit" programs, the B'nai B'rith Wom¬ en will again present a novel and stimulating program at its me e 11 n g Tuesday -night, 8 o'clock, at Bryden Rd. Temple. Entitled "Betty Brith Stages A Whispering Campaign," the pro¬ gram features audience partici¬ pation, and should prove Inter¬ esting, educational and amusing. . As an added attraction, the program will include musical selections by Miss Barbara Cohen who, though In her early teens, has already won vast ¦audlencie appeal with her lovely voice. Accompanied by Miss Ruth Smith, a young, accom¬ plished and talepted pianist. Miss Cohen will present "Songs pf.JWendBhlp."
The opening prayer will be given by Mrs. Leonard Grlgst, With Mrs. Theodore Schlonsky presiding.
. Refreshments will be served 6y the Hospitality committee, headed by. Mrs. iVIurray Barnett and Mrs. Joseph Minkin. All members and friends of B'nai B'rith women are cordially In¬ vited. An attendance gift will be awarded.,
Folkman to Address B-P Hadassah Group
Helen Smith, chairman of Business and Professional Ha¬ dassah, is happy to announce that Rabbi Jerome Folkman will be the guest speaker at the reg¬ ular meeting Wednesday eve¬ ning., 8 o'clock, at the Hotel Seneca.
Sarah Robins, president, will present her report of the reg¬ ional convention held in Cincin¬ nati last month.
Julia Kellner and Doris Bono- witz have been appointed host¬ esses of the evening and refresh¬ ments will be .served during the social period.
Formal Installation of Agudath Achim^s
Rabbi S. W* Rubenstein Sunday Evening
The Jewish community of Co¬ lumbus Friday evening Inaug¬ urated the program of events which will qulminate in the for¬ mal installation ot Rabbi Samuel W. Rubenstein as spiritual lead¬ er of Agudath Achim congrega¬ tion this Sunday evening. As the Chronicle reaches its readers this morning, services are being conducted at Agudath Achlm, with Rabbi Leopold Greenwald of Beth Jacob congregation as guest speaker.
At 4 o'clock this afternoon, Rabbi Julius Baker of this city, will deliver the Talmudlc dis¬ course, to be followed by an elaborate Sholosh SuUos, as a part of the week-end installation ceremonies.
The main program for the oc¬ casion will be the Sunday eve¬ ning banquet at the synagogue, to which all members of the congregation have been extend¬ ed invitations. The festivities will begin promptly at 6:30 p. m., with Dr. Marvin Fox as toast- master.
The chairman for the dinner is Harry Schwartz. The program is

The guest speaker, Dr. Soltes was for many years a leader In all national movements affect¬ ing the well-being of our people everywhere. He is an author of renown, having written such outstanding works as: Contemp¬ orary Jewish History, Current Problems and Movements, The Jewish Holidays—A Guide to Their Origin, Significance and Observance, Manual for Jewish Book Week, Jewish Book Pro¬ grams All Year Round, and many others.

An Open Letter From Hadassah
A letter has b?en mailed to all patron^ of the recent Hadassah Donor Dinner, in explanation of why It Is Impossible to re-sched¬ ule a visit of Franklin D. Roose¬ velt, Jr., to speak at a second meeting. Mr.' Roosevelt, who was to have been the Donor Dinner guest speaker Dec. 11, was un¬ able to appear as • flying Condi¬ tions on that day were such that no planes could leave LaGuardla Airport.
It was stated during the eve¬ ning's program that arrange¬ ments would be made to bring Mr. Roosevelt to Columbus with¬ in the next few weeks after con¬ tacting'him Dec. 13, but Mr. Roosevelt Informed the com¬ mittee that It would be impossi¬ ble for him to return to the Mid¬ west until very late Spring, slnoe Congress convenes Jan. 3.
It wss therefore decided not to ¦make a second commitment with FDR, Jr., since there have been so many expressions to the effect that a second meeting for him was not necessary, as Dr. Marvin Fox more than filled the bill. According to Evelyn Lin- Ick, chairman, Eva S. Luper and Noll S, Flsh'er, co-chairmen, It Is the hope of this year's Donor Dinner committee that the above decision l8 in the best Interests of Hadassah and Its supporters.
RABBI BROOKS ON NEXT AOL BROABCAST FRIDAY
Rabbi Sidney Brooks of Springfield, 0., who recently re¬ turned from Israel, will discuss ¦his experiences in that country next Friday, at 2:05, on station WRFD. He will be interviewed by Rev. Edwin Randall, the station Pastor.
Rabbi Brooks, in addition to touring Israel, spent three months working on an agricul¬ tural settlement. He will de¬ scribe life in the settlement and give his general reactions to the new State.
This program is part of the "Meet Your Neighbor" series heard each Friday, prepared un¬ der the direction of the Regional Office of the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith.
TARSHISH TO ADDRESS B'NAI B'RITH OFFICERS

PIONEER WOMEN'S CHANUKAH PARTY IS WEDNESDAY
A gay, colorful Chanukah par¬ ty awaits the members of Plo- n e e r Women's Organization, Chapter 2, at the next regular meeting Wednesday, 8 pm., at the Ahavath Sholem Synagogue. The meeting will be opened with a prayer by Mrs. Florence Gure¬ vltz; the Chanukah lights will be kindled by Mrs. Jean Kisch.
The program for the evening will feature a n outstanding variety show which is to be em-
ceed by Jerry Salen, known locally for his many talents. A newly-formed Choral Group will offer several selections With Mrs. B. Betker accompanying at the piano. Mrs. Ann Swedlow will present a skit accompanied by Mrs. Miriam Shenker, pianist. Also, Mrs. Marilyn Samuelson will entertain in her own origi¬ nal style.
A rare treat is in store for everyone when the "cake walk"
is presented. Under the able leadership of Mrs. Ruth Cooper, and assisted by Mrs. M. Mlnkln and Mrs. S. Kooperstein, ibis promises to be unusual enter¬ tainment. Also on the list of fun for the evening will be a gift exchange and door prize.

Organize Local Chapter of National Women's Committee of Brandeis
Dr. Abram L. Sachar, presi¬ dent of Brandeis University, the first Jewish-sponsored, n o n- sectarlan university in America, will be In Columbus, Thursday, Jan. 12, to participate in the or¬ ganization of the Columbus Chapter of the National Wom¬ en's Committee of Brandeis Univ.
Dr. Sachar will tell the story of Brandeis at a meeting of all the Jewish women of the city at Broad St. Temple, at 2 p. m.
Religious groups have produc¬ ed many of America's outstand- educational Institutions. Protest¬ ant denominations have founded more than 60O non-sectarian in¬ stitutions; Catholics have found¬ ed approximately 200. Even the Quakers, who comprise a very small proportion of the popula¬ tion, have four outstanding schools, all of them religiously- sponsored, but non-sectarian. Although Brandeis is being fi¬ nanced primarily by Jews, It has also received contributions from non-Jews. Named for the late Justice Louis Dembltz Brandeis, the university, located at Wal- tham, Mass., expresses his high aim and broad vision. The hope of the sponsors is by good ex¬ ample a blow against discrimi¬ nation wherever it exists In American institutions of higher learning. Brandeis doors opened Oct. 1948 to the first class of 107 students, not one of whom had been asked to state race, religion or color in applying.
The responsibility of the wom¬ en's committee for Brandeis Is to supply books for the library and also to provide for Its ex¬ pansion, maintenance and equip¬ ment.
Brandeis Women's Committee is represented In cities through¬ out the U. S., and organization of new chapters Is continuing at a rapid rate. Mrs. Alfred J.
