SCOPE AND CONTENTS OF THE COLLECTION
The collection is comprised of transparencies depicting people, places, and events in Ohio. Most appear to have been taken in the mid 1960s. Cities represented in the collection include Akron, Canton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Mansfield and Youngstown. Akron scenes include the All- American Soap Box Derby; the city skyline and Stan Hywet Hall. Cincinnati images document the Cincinnati Zoo; area churches; and Eden Park. Columbus scenes depict the city skyline; the Ohio Statehouse; Christmas decorations in the city; area churches; and the Park of Roses. A Cleveland image documents the opening day of baseball season. There are also images of the Ohio State Fair and other local festivals; recreational activities such as boating and skiing; state parks; historical sites; and agriculture and nature scenes found in the collection.
